Dear Friend,
I'm proud to unveil the new name of Infact: Corporate Accountability International. The mission and purpose of the organization remain the same, but as we expand our work to protect people around the world from irresponsible and dangerous corporate actions, our new name and logo will help our organizing reach millions more people like you.
Over the past 27 years, our organization has grown into an international force that successfully challenges corporations that profit at the expense of our health, our human rights and our natural resources. Now we are well positioned to grow and more effectively stop corporate abuse.
With input from activists, donors and members like you, and guidance from outside experts, we have determined that the name Corporate Accountability International best represents this organization, our history and our expanded direction. Our new name and look promise to help us better communicate our life-saving work, record of success, campaigns and momentum as a membership organization.
-In our biggest victory yet, we played a central role in shaping the first global health and corporate accountability treaty, the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). The treaty will ban tobacco promotion -including images like the Marlboro Man- and limit Big Tobacco's political influence around the world.
While we continue to campaign for implementation of the global tobacco treaty, now we are also challenging the water, oil, and food and agribusiness industries. Check out our new website, StopCorporateAbuse, to see news of our campaigning and ways that you can take action now!
We hope you like what you see.
Best wishes in this holiday season,
Kathy Mulvey, Executive Director |
